The Sadhu Foundation was established to devotedly serve Sadhus and Earnest Spiritual Seekers in Need. Additionally, it seeks to encourage adolescents to discover their own unique inner virtue to lead an intelligent, content, and tranquil lifestyle.

The greatest obstacle to spiritual growth is ignorance of the eternal truth, which is the misery of humanity. According to the Vedas, ignorance is a condition that exists in beings due to their prarabdha karma and can only be eradicated by the grace of the Guru. When one serves the guru with selfless service, one can gain this grace. which is explained in Guru Gita as

Gurupādāmbujaṁ smṛtvā
jalam sirasi dhārayet,
Sarva-tirthāvagāhasya
samprāpnoti phalam narah.

​

Sprinkle water on your head while remembering the lotus feet of the Guru.

Thus, a person obtains the benefits of bathing in all holy waters.

Soṣaṇam pāpa-pankasya
dīpanaṁ jñāna-tejasām,
Gurupādodakaṁ samyak
samsārārṇava-tārakam.

​

The water of the Guru's feet (has the power) to dry up the mire of one's sins, to ignite

the light of knowledge, and to take one smoothly across the ocean of this world.

 

Ajñāna-mula-haraṇam
janma-karma-nivāraṇam,
Jñana-vairāgya-siddhyartham
gurupādodakaṁ pibet.

To obtain knowledge and detachment, sip the water of the Guru's feet, which destroys

ignorance and ends karmas, (the cause of) rebirth.
